The Panola Land Buying Association (PLBA) materials consist of various documents, including correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, research, and files related to housing projects. Key areas of focus include the formation of the PLBA, the creation of the PLBA Housing Co-op, and the PLBA Housing Development Organization. Much of the documentation centers around the development and management of housing projects between 1970 and 1997. The first major housing initiative, Wendy Hills subdivision, provided 50 homes for PLBA members. Other significant projects include the Aliceville project, Eutaw Elderly Village, Marengo Homes, and Willow Housing. The collection also contains bid proposals, contracts, feasibility studies, funding applications, and housing management plans. Additional documents, dated between 1971 and 1999, are organized by subject, covering interactions with local, state, and federal organizations, construction contractors, attorneys, PLBA member agreements, and funding sources.
